PREPARATION: PROFILE OF A BAND

Kate nash

One of my favourits singers is Kate nash, she starts to sing in 2006 in London. Kate nash say "she has refused to divulge who the other members of the band are, or what style of music they play". And for this I don't search the name of the people of the band. She only have one album, her name is "Made of Bricks" and one of the famous songs of this album is Moutwash or Foundations. The first and the only album was released in London in 2007, but the singer starts to be famous in 2006. She don't won any prize or award because she only sing two years ago.I think she sing a tipe of music, is the same as pop. She starts to be famous thanks to myspace. Lily Allen say of Kate nash is the "next big thing".

To the Limit: Living with a Disability

STEPHEN HAWKING

. STEPHEN HAWKING
Stephen William Hawking (born 8 January 1942) is a British theoretical physicist. Hawking is the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge (but intends to retire from this post in 2009), a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and the distinguished research chair at Waterloo's Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He is known for his contributions to the fields of cosmology and quantum gravity, especially in the context of black holes. He has also achieved success with works of popular science in which he discusses his own theories and cosmology in general; these include the runaway bestseller A Brief History of Time, which stayed on the British Sunday Times bestseller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks. Hawking has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a condition that has progressed over the years and has left him almost completely paralysed.

And he’s done most of this work while confined to a wheelchair, brought on by the progressive neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Hawking is the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge, a post once held by Isaac Newton.

In the late 1960s, Hawking proved that if general relativity is true and the universe is expanding, a singularity must have occurred at the birth of the universe. In 1974 he first recognized a truly remarkable property of black holes, objects from which nothing was supposed to be able to escape. By taking into account quantum mechanics, he was able to show that black holes can radiate energy as particles are created in their vicinity. But perhaps his most impressive feat was writing the international bestseller A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME. The book spent more than four years on the London Sunday Times bestseller list—the longest run for any book in history.

4.Tokio Hotel is a German band founded in Magdeburg, Germany in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bassist Georg Listing. The quartet have scored four number one singles and have released two number one albums in their native country, selling nearly 5 million CDs and DVDs there.

After recording an unreleased demo-CD under the name "Devilish" and having their contract with Sony BMG terminated, the band released their first German-language album, Schrei, as Tokio Hotel on Island Records in 2005. Schrei sold more than half a million copies worldwide and spawned four top five singles in both Germany and Austria. In 2007, the band released their second German album Zimmer 483 and their first English album Scream which have combined album sales of over one million copies worldwide and helped win the band their first MTV Europe Music Award for Best InterAct. The former, Zimmer 483, spawned three top five singles in Germany while the latter, Scream, spawned two singles that reached the top twenty in new territories such as Portugal, Spain and Italy. Their first live album, Zimmer 483 - Live In Europe, was released near the end of 2007. On 25 March 2008, Scream was released in Canada, and was planned for release on 29 April in the United States, but due to Bill Kaulitz's vocal problems had to be postponed to 6 May. In September 2008, they won their first MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. They also beat bands Metallica and Linkin Park and picked up the prestigious Headliner award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008 held in
